Special exhibition of a popular Japanese anime, “ONE PIECE”, at Yokote Masuda Manga Museum! Tourist attractions in Yokote City, Akita, Japan

Do you like Japanese anime and manga? I do! At Yokote Masuda Manga Museum, there was an exhibition of one of the most popular cartoons in Japan, “ONE PIECE”!

As you may know, “ONE PIECE” by Eiichiro Oda is now known around the world. At the exhibition, the main character, Luffy, and other ONE PIECE characters in a big poster welcomed us!

We could also see drawings, colorful drawings, a replica of work desk of the manga artist and so on.

On the work desk, you can see lots of anime stuff and some notebooks which may contain information about each character’s skills, etc. I’m so curious!

Among them, ONE PIECE characters in Japanese kimono (traditional clothes) were especially cool! All the anime arts there were really awesome!!

This is a seasonal event, but various manga artists’ special exhibitions are held in this museum. Please check the official website and consider this place as your travel destination!

At the souvenir shop, you can get many manga goods such as key chains, notebooks, T-shirts, bags, etc. Enjoy this anime store, too! Also, don’t miss the huge manga wall above the shop! That’s amazing!

After enjoying the ONCE PIECE exhibition, I visited the Manga Café inside the museum. You can notice that the tables and walls are also decorated with manga! Funny!

For lunch, I ordered “Bon-san no pizza toast” (800 yen as of September, 2020). This toast is designed with a character from “A Pinch of Seasoning”, whose author is from here in Akita, Japan. I couldn’t stop laughing when this toast was served on my table! haha!

The table says “How delicious it looks!” lol

On the second floor, there is a Manga Library possessing about 25,000 fun comics, where visitors can read them for free. Comic books of Akita’s manga artists are also shown beautifully: “Fisherman Sanpei” by Takao Yaguchi, “Ginga” series by Yoshihiro Takahashi, “A Pinch of Seasoning” by Yoshimi Kurata, etc.

This museum entertains manga-lovers for sure! I think visitors can learn and enjoy Japanese anime, too. Yokote Masuda Manga Museum must be one of the recommended tourist attractions in your Akita travel!
