One of my favorite things to do is to spend my free time at a lovely cafe. Because I also like driving, I often go around the city to find some nice cafes. Of course new cafes are attractive, but I’ve been to the same cafes for a long time…maybe more than 5 years! I can’t forget my favorite tastes once I’m into it! Today, I’d like to tell you about one of my favorites! Yum Yum!
A kawaii cafe “nico” is in Akita city, Akita. It is quietly located behind the Kencho (Akita Prefectural Office). The shop opens at 8:30 in the morning, so it’s good for both breakfast and tea time. This café serves homemade pancakes, where I strongly suggest that you must try them especially if you are a pancakes-lover!
Not only the homemade pancakes but interiors of the entire cafe are so cute and attractive!
These classic? or antique? (I don’t know how to express them!) furniture, wall, kitchen, check counter, and even the restroom are very very cute!! This is one of the places to go when you visit Akita, Japan!
As shown in menu (written in Japanese), there are some flavors of pancakes at “nico”, such as Eggs Benedict, Croc mosh pancakes, homemade Ricotta cheese pancakes, chocolate sauce pancakes, Macadamia-nuts sauce pancakes, maccha (green tea) and Azuki (sweet bean paste) pancakes, berry sauce pancakes and apple caramelize pancakes. In addition, you can enjoy homemade pizza and cakes.
I have tried a few of them, but finally, I ordered the same one as usual. It’s mixed berry pancakes! You can see the picture. Looks tasty, right?
The pancakes set come with a drink. This time, I chose hot honey latte. I loved the kawaii art on the drink, too. Delicious pancakes and the latte made my tea time wonderful!
The drink menu has hot and cold drinks such as coffee, cafe latte, café mocha, maccha latte (green tea latte), black tea, smoothie, etc. Set menu of the drink and pancakes were reasonable. (I always order this. haha)
On top of a pile of 4-piece pancakes, whipping cream and vanilla ice cream are covered with mixed berry sauce. Blueberry and some berries on top are cute, too! It tastes sour and sweet! Awesome!!
Sometimes I eat one by one, but the best way seems to eat every piece at the same time, of course. Yummy!!
By the way, “nico” is a cafe with wifi for free.
When I came here, there were lots of customers including groups of women, couples and solo customers. I recommend “nico” to have breakfast and tea time as well as to go out with someone. Relax and have a good time at “nico” !
