What do you want to try in Japan tourism? Ryokan (Japanese traditional hotel) and Onsen (hot springs) may be one of the most popular attractions!
Sendai Akiu Hot Spring Hotel, “SAKAN”, is the traditional ryokan which has such attractive characteristics. It has over 1000 years of history since establishment.
By free pickup bus of the hotel, we arrived at SAKAN after about 40-minute drive. (*Reservation is required.)
We were glad to find the gorgeous entrance and lobby at the hotel.
After check-in, we enjoyed tea time at “Tea Lounge Okami no Kocha”.

Visitors can enjoy tasty tea with various tea cups.
It’s a fun place for tea-lovers!
There are three types of Onsen in SAKAN.
① “Kawara no Yu” is outdoor bath nearby the Natori river.
You may feel the nature and sounds of the stream. It relaxed us a lot!
② “Hime no Yu” is a public bathroom.
It is a big bathroom so you can enjoy taking a bath at your own pace.
③ “Natori no Miyu” floats rose on the bath tub which pleases women!
We tried it and was really beautiful!
Now, it’s time for dinner!
All the dishes were creative and beautiful! We were satisfied with the delicious Japanese dishes.
Because they were so good, we forgot to take photos of the main dish!! Omg!

After the dinner, we went to the Onsen again! Haha! Then, we found a cozy wine bar, “Kura Kura”, and stayed there until midnight! It served tasty sake, beer, cocktails, etc. What a great place!
In the next morning, we had Premium Morning Buffet!
Some dishes are made to order. There were varieties of dishes as Sashimi rice bowl, crab soup, cooked eggs, bread, sandwiches, ramen, desserts and more! It was such a fun place!
Around SAKAN, there are some sightseeing spots as Sendai Kaleidoscopes Art Museum.
By free pickup bus of the hotel, we visited there and had fun! The museum had many artistic kaleidoscopes, which reminded our childhood. When you come to Tohoku area of Japan, please fully enjoy SAKAN as well as the surrounding sightseeing spots! Hope you like them!
